Aspen House Assisted Living Facility in Loveland, Colorado

I wanted to share with you a little bit about my experience in visiting Aspen House Memory Care a few years ago.

I was fortunate enough to be allowed to visit their facility and bring my camera. I did a video tour, an interview, and took a number of photos of the facility, and chatted with Jean, who is the administrator of the facility.

Jean certainly has her hands full, as any assisted living facility administrator does. However, she seemed to handle the rigorous slew of daily challenges with poise and professionalism. Several times we were stopped in the hallways by residents who needed something - either assistance, some personal love and attention, or just to say hello. Jean took the time to stop each and every time to attend to each request or need.

The facility is beautiful, secure, and located in a lovely part of Loveland, just slightly off the beaten path. It was peaceful, and a place I would entrust my loved one to live - absolutely.

Assisted Living Tidbits

It's no secret that many of the assisted living sites out there operate almost exclusively as referral sites. The good news is that some of them are great services, and offer meaningful and useful help for families who are looking for assisted living. The unfortunate news is that many of them are less than scrupulous, and are careless with any information you give them. So, is it a good idea or not to use referral sites or services? I wanted to know what type of room to the residents live in and what qualifications do your staff have to deal with dementia residents? How many residents will you have at one time (at full capacity).

I was wondering if I could get a little more information on your facility, like does it accept medicaid, and what are some of the other costs that one might expect? My sister and I are trying to find the best fit as far as assisted living for out mother who is mentally ill (dementia). We would like her to have as much independence as possible and we need to find somewhere where she can possibly bring her cat because she means the world to her.
