For Delaware, this is easy to do.
The first thing you might want to know, is who the agency responsible for regulating assisted living is. For Delaware, this title belongs to the Department of Health & Social Services, Division of Long Term Care Residents Protection.
A visit to their website provides a good deal of information, and sub-sections. Notably, under the Services section, you’ll see an area for Licensing and Certification Process for Long Term Care. This section has information on how to become licensed, and/or certified as a long-term care facility, including assisted living, as well as office addresses to get additional information.
You can also inquire about becoming certified to participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.
Additionally, there is a section for Licensed and Certified Long Term Care Facilities, which includes a section listing all of Delaware’s Licensed Assisted Living Facilities.
As importantly, there is a section for Complaint and Incident reporting, which offers instructions on how to file a complaint against an assisted living facility in Delaware.
