Assisted Living Tidbits:

I was really surprised, given the number of seniors living in Watertown that there isn't more of a showing for assisted living facilities here, and there is really very minimal information about the one facility that we found.

What we assume is that, since Watertown is within the Greater Boston metro area, seniors can chose from those facilities in the other suburbs and outlying towns around Boston - as well as from Boston itself. Of these areas, we found many assisted living and Alzheimer's care facilities.

What we did find out about Watertown is that it does have some decent looking support services for it's local senior population. Most notably, the City of Watertown has a Senior Center that doubles as the location for the Council on Aging - both of which provide programs and services for anyone over 60.

Another significant agency that we found is Springwell - which is a private, not for profit agency that has been around for more than 30 years. This agency exists to serve local elders, people with disabilities, and their families to help create, manage and coordinate services. In addition, Springwell helps with caregiver support.
