Assisted Living Tidbits:

The City of Hartford - what a great city for seniors! We had no problem creating this page for Hartford Assisted Living, and easily found lots of great things for the local senior population to do, and plenty of support services as well!

Our first stop was the City of Hartford's excellent website - where we found their Senior Services Division section within the Department of Health and Human Services. We were happy to see that the included an abundance of helpful information - such as senior center contacts and locations, where seniors can take part in a number of different health screenings, from cholesterol to diabetes to medication management. In addition, the senior centers offer games and activities such as cards, Tai Chi, aerobics and exercise classes, and even computer classes! To find out more about what is offered, please call the senior centers - we have included their phone numbers in the main section of this page!

The City of Hartford also has a Commission on Aging which studies the needs and conditions of local seniors and elderly persons relevant to housing, health, recreation and economics.

There is also a local Dial-a-Ride program in Hartford - which helps to reduce isolation with Hartford seniors by enabling them to travel to local senior activities, events and medical appointments. There are some eligibility guidelines and restrictions, so make sure to call (860) 757-4724 to see if you are eligible. Reservations and cancellations can be made by calling (860) 724-5340.
