Family Home:
Capacity: 1-6 - licensee resides on-site

Congregate:
Capacity Greater than 20

County Infirmary:
Capacity Greater than 20

Large Group:
Capacity: 13 - 20

Medium Group:
Capacity: 7-12

Small Group:
Capacity: 1-6 - may reside off-site

Home for the Aged:
"A supervised personal care facility, that provides room, board, and supervised personal care to 21 or more unrelated non transient, individuals 60 years of age or older."

Assisted Living Tidbits:

We are looking for some enlightenment here - we noticed that one "assisted living facility" in Novi wasn't licensed by the Michigan Department of Human Services - but it billed itself as "Supportive Living" not "Assisted Living." What is the difference? It appears that "supportive" offers much of the same services as "assisted" living. We (our staff here) aren't in Michigan, so perhaps someone out there knows if there is an answer?
