Assisted Living Tidbits
Did you know that assisted living can often times care for residents beyond the realm of the typical aging, memory care and Alzheimer's conditions? Nowadays, many facilities are trained and equipped to care for residents of a wide spectrum of ages (we've seen facilities take residents in their 20's), as well as conditions, needs, and health-issues.
Many facilities now accept residents regardless of condition or age. Parkinson's, Stroke and other conditions can be managed by staff that is trained specifically to manage the behaviors or effects from these conditions.
Although quite a large number of facilities still market themselves as being memory care or Alzheimer's facilities, it is worth asking whether they have experience in handling other issues and types of residents that match what you may be looking for. You might be surprised at the positive and encouraging answers that you get!
