Assisted Living Tidbits
Great questions and comments that we have received about Gold Country Senior Living - and assisted living that can serve as examples of the types (and thoroughness) of questions that you might consider asking potential facilities:
I am looking for a place for my parents, my dad has incontinence, and needs help dressing and bathing, which my mom usually does. Could you please send me a brochure if possible? Please include prices, conditions etc. I am looking to place them ASAP.
I would like to know what the cost per month for me and my wife who are in good health and not in need of any assistance at this time.
Is the Assisted Living, private, rooms or apartments? Does Gold Country accept Social Security as partial payment?
What is your availability for the assisted living facility, our mother is due to get out of Placerville Pines in the next couple of weeks.
What is your pricing for assisted living with limited services? Also can they come and go as they please?
Does this facility have Memory Care?
My name is Lisa. I am 44 and receive SSD. I have been 100% disabled since 2009. Currently I own a home in Sunnyvale CA. I was diagnosed in 2/2002 w/ M.S. I am on COBRA insurance for my Kaiser and no medicare as of yet. I have realized that I honestly I am unable to be the person I was. I think that if I can buy a home in an assisted living community, I can enjoy the rest of my life. I would love to be a responsible home owner w/ an acre or two, but I admit I cannot.
Are there any volunteer opportunities at Gold Country Senior Living Facility for my daughter, Sierra (13 almost 14 year old). She would be able to begin volunteer-work in September, 2011 as I will not be working any longer and would be able to provide transportation for her. Sierra enjoys spending time with people of all ages. She has many talents and traits that would make her a caring and effective Jr. volunteer. If you have any questions, just let me know, and I'll be happy to provide more information.
What is your monthly fee for a 1 bedroom apartment? Do you offer any facilities for a week or a month stay?
I am interested in placing my mother at Gold Country. Could you give me a call so I could tour your facility as soon as possible?
I'm interested in obtaining a quote on a private residence for my mom, age 67. She has Alzheimer's. Is there a wait list? Can I visit the facility? She is living in Senior Mobile park here in PV and lost Dad last year.
Q: My mother in law has previously visited Gold Country and we have your 2011 rates. Could you please give me your current rates for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath standard apartment as well as your deluxe apartment? Do you have a waiting list? - Tamara
Q: I'd like information on your facility for my 87 year old father. Is there a waiting list? How much/and what kind of rooms do you have? - Kathi
Q: My 85 yr old mom is in assisted living in Elk Grove and I am looking to see what is available around P'ville. She has mild/mod dementia and needs meals and medication given to her. She dresses and bathes herself. What do you provide and pricing please. She has her own 2 rm suite w/bath now. - Linda
Q: My mother is looking into assisted living, can you give me prices for a 1 bedroom apartment that includes your basic service. I want to make sure it is affordable and if she can afford it on her own or if we will need to kick in and help. We want the best for her. - Sharon
