One of the things that has been most important to me for our site is to always put the interests of our site’s users first. To me, one of the best ways to do that is to always highlight and link to other great assisted living sites that are highly trustworthy, and that offer straightforward, unbiased information.
For Ohio, you have four awesome sites and pages that I would like to point out. These sites offer unbiased, non-commercial information on facilities throughout the State of Ohio, as well as information regarding the state’s Medicaid/Assisted Living Waiver program.
Firstly, I would like to share with you the State of Ohio’s Department on Aging site, which features a very good overview of how Ohio defines assisted living (each state is different) and links to other pages for assisted living and long-term care information in Ohio.

Next, I would like to share with you a great .pdf guide that details the state’s Assisted Living Waiver program. You’ll find information on how to apply and enroll, and on how to select a provider. There are a number of good charts and graphs to help you to understand the program.
Another of our four great pages and resources is the state’s Long Term Care Consumer guide, which features a helpful video (which I have embedded below), and links to helpful information and facility search tools for assisted living, nursing homes, supportive living, and residential treatment.
Lastly, I want to make you aware of a great Facility Search Tool that allows you to search for senior care options throughout the State of Ohio, and filter by criteria such as Alzheimer’s or Dementia care, Hospice Care, and even the number of miles away from your desired search location.
