Idaho has a special place in the Heart of Assisted Living Directory! I (David, the editor for Assisted Living Directory) had the privilege of living in this beautiful state back in the ’90’s, and I still have strong memories of how beautiful the State of Idaho is.
I also remember how remote many of the areas are, and at times, how hard they are to get to. Idaho, aside from Boise, is not known for large, urban city-living. It is more-often associated with rugged mountains, small towns, and families who stay put for several generations.

These Agencies, which cover every county and area in the US, including Idaho, offer a source for support, and a place to get questions answered. Many times, Agencies on Aging can educate you and your family on senior care options that may have been overlooked, or other alternatives such as home care that may be available in your area.
We highly recommend investigating your local AAA with any questions or concerns about senior care issues, housing, or even elder abuse in Idaho. To find your county or area’s Agency on Aging, please visit the Idaho Commission on Aging’s website where you’ll find an interactive map for each area serviced in Idaho, and the corresponding agency’s information.

Before a new resident arrives at Emerson House, every effort is made to create a gentle and welcoming transition. This begins with a comprehensive assessment, which includes the prospective resident, their family and physician. Our next step is to develop a customized plan of care taking into consideration the resident’s social history and medical needs along with recreational interests, spiritual dimensions and other personal issues to ensure their well-being and comfort.
Personal needs are given top priority at Emerson House. Our building design allows the professional staff to provide comprehensive twenty-four hour care. The compassionate and specially-trained staff is ready to respond to emergencies, manage medicines and monitor the health of each resident according to their customized plan of care.
In addition to long-term residential care, Emerson House offers respite and adult day care services.
