There was a great article today in the Minot Daily News about a new development that will offer seniors a great mix of freedom and independence with amenities and services. It's a 79 unit development in southeast Minot called "Edgewood Village" (headed up by Edgewood Development Group). Basically, the idea is for seniors to be able to live in their own homes for as long as possible. Of course, having assisted living and medical services close at hand is important as well. The homes are furnished as a homeowner might decorate it, and there are several "community amenities" included with the design. There is a 24-seat theater, a salon, chapel, a park, fitness resources and a plan to have a walking/fitness path route through the area.
