Fletcher said he "urges all citizens of the commonwealth to visit assisted living communities in Kentucky to learn how senior adults can benefit from a nurturing, homelike environment with choice, security and a true quality of life." Did you know? Interesting assisted living items
  • Important things to think about when moving into an assisted living facility: Does the facility have a generator backup in case of an electrical outage? You might not have considered this but imagine, especially if your health depends on medical machinery that uses electricity - a storm knocks the power out in your neighborhood for several hours. Immediately, the power is back on because your facility has generator backups for just such an emergency. You'll be patting yourself on the back because you researched this before you moved in!
  • Did you know? The United States General Accounting Office estimates that the costs for nursing homes will triple over the course of the next 20 years. Right now the average yearly cost of nursing home care is over $60,000 (2002 estimate). For exclusive facilities, that number is over $100,000. Both of these numbers are higher for larger cities
