» If you have any questions about what is covered by Medicare, please contact them by calling 1-800-633-4227. Medication management is also offered by many residences.

» What is Long-Term-care insurance? This type of insurance generally covers in-home & residential services over an extended period of time. This includes nursing home services. Secondary insurance is health care insurance that is purchased privately and is intended to cover expenses not paid for by Medicare. Secondary insurance policies do not usually cover Long-Term care costs or in-home care for an extended period.

Did you know? Interesting assisted living items
  • Living successfully in an assisted living or nursing environment means making sure it is an "accessible" environment. This means that items, appliances, fixtures and cabinets need to all be accessible and within easy reach. If the resident is in a wheelchair, then the freezer door may not be within easy access, and could cause an accident. Kitchen cabinets may be too high, or the fixtures in a shower may be out of reach. Assess the living environment before moving in, or placing a loved one in a facility.
